Job Description
The theoretical astrophysics group at Kyung Hee University at South Korea invites applications for a postdoctoral position in early‑Universe galaxy formation theory. The successful candidate will conduct numerical simulations of high‑redshift galaxy formation and use these models to interpret new JWST observations.
The position also expects independent research activity and active participation in mentoring junior group members within the team.
Qualifications
- PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a related field by the start date
- Experience with numerical simulations; hydrodynamical cosmological simulations preferred
- Strong interest in early‑Universe and high‑redshift galaxy science
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team
Compensation and Benefits
Duration: Initial 2‑year appointment, with the possibility of a 1–2 year extension based on performance.
Start Date: Flexible in 2026 (the earlier, the better).
Salary: KRW 70,000,000–80,000,000 per year, depending on experience.
Benefits: Travel support for international conferences.
