Job Description

The College of Astronomy and Natural Sciences in Toruń which was opened in December 2023 is one of the five Colleges of Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School. Our School aims at international character and scientists from all over the world, including Nobel Prize winners, lecture at it.

We offer doctoral program in astronomy for foreign and domestic students. We invite applications from highly qualified and well-motivated students wishing to pursue a doctoral (PhD) degree in astronomy. We provide a comprehensive astronomy course program on a 4-year schedule and provide 4-year scholarships. All classes are held in English.

The doctoral program in astronomy covers many areas of modern astrophysics, including neutron stars, pulsars, black holes, gamma burst, accretion theory, relativistic astrophysics, extrasolar planetary systems, astronomy based on big data and machine learning.

The aim of the program is to prepare all students to submit a doctoral thesis and launch a successful career in astronomy, space science, industry or business.

Successful applicants will be provided with our assistance during relocation to Toruń, the medieval city of Nicolaus Copernicus, which is now famous scientific and cultural center. We provide support to housing, organizational and financial issues.

We are pleased to announce that recruitment to the doctoral program at the College of Astronomy and Natural Sciences in Toruń started July 2024.
