Job Description
The Physics Department at Utah Valley University is accepting applications for a tenure-track professor in astronomy or astrophysics. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude for teaching and mentoring undergraduate research students. Candidates with proven success in all fields of astronomy research will be considered, with preference given to applicants with research programs in extragalactic astronomy or cosmology.
UVU is a large public undergraduate university with strong emphasis on teaching. Professors at UVU teach a course load of 12 credit hours each semester, and candidates should be comfortable teaching a variety of undergraduate physics courses. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in current pedagogical strategies for maximizing student success. Preference will be given to candidates with specific expertise in preparing and teaching online or hybrid courses.
