The CEA Paris-Saclay Astrophysics Department invites applications for a postdoctoral position in observational cosmology, with a focus on galaxy clusters.
The post is available for a fixed term of 2 years. The successful candidate will work as part of a team on projects related to the astrophysics of galaxy clusters. Demonstrated observational research expertise in the domain of clusters, with particular focus on X-rays, is desirable. Additional research experience in weak lensing or SZ observations of clusters and/or Bayesian statistical methods will be an asset. Some fraction of the candidate's time will be available for independent research.
CEA Paris-Saclay is a French government research centre located 25 km south of Paris, in close proximity to Universities and other research institutes. The Astrophysics Department is a major space astrophysics laboratory comprising more than 100 faculty and staff members, with scientific interests ranging from planets to cosmology. It offers a lively and active research environment of the highest international standard.
Minimum qualifications include a PhD degree in astronomy, physics or a related field. The appointment is expected to start in October-November 2025 for a duration of two years.

Compensation and Benefits
Funding for conferences, collaborations, personal equipment and publication is available. The position includes full medical insurance.
Salary starts at € 2 700 net, subject to adjustment for experience.
