Optical Specialist / Senior Optical Specialist

Classification: ANU Officer Grade 6/7 or ANU Officer 8 (Specialist)
Salary package: $86,960 - $114,700 per annum, plus 17% superannuation
Terms:  Full-time, Continuing (Contingent Funded) (up to 4 years)

The Position 

The Optical / Senior Optical Specialist will report to the Optical Discipline Supervisor and will undertake optical research and development activities within the optics discipline team environment and will provide specialist technical support to RSAA research program in the area of Optics and is responsible for managing and ensuring that necessary optics standards and technical facilities requirements are met for assigned projects.

The Person 

We are looking for qualified (a University degree or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in Optics or related discipline) Optical Specialist with experience in management of optical design, manufacturing, integration, testing and delivery, and with familiarity with the application and use of optical metrology equipment.  A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to quickly develop productive, professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Highly developed organisational skills and effective self-management are key.
