Job Description

We seek an exceptional senior level researcher to lead a world-class research program in gravitational-wave astrophysics. You will become a chief investigator with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational-wave Discovery (OzGrav) - a new $31 million centre funded by the Australian Research Council, which brings together leading gravitational-wave researchers from five Australian universities. We encourage applications from gravitational-wave physicists and astrophysicists, working in a variety of areas, including data analysis, observation, instrumentation, and theoretical astrophysics.

As the successful candidate, you will have opportunities to collaborate with members of the gravitational-wave and high-energy astrophysics groups in the Monash Centre for Astrophysics, which has one of the largest collection of researchers in Australia.

The successful candidate will also make contributions to teaching and learning in astrophysics.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional record of publications and citations in high impact factor journals, with demonstrated research leadership and the capacity to build an internationally recognised research group.

The School of Physics and Astronomy is strongly committed to improving the diversity of our staff and students, and promoting a culture of equality, fairness, respect and openness. In 2015 the School received a Bronze Pleiades Award - Recognising Commitment to Advancing Women in Astronomy. This is an important first step in affirming women within the School, one that we can build upon, as the University engages in addressing the Athena Swan Charter. Consequently, women are especially encouraged to apply for this position

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to "How to apply for Monash Jobs" below.
