The Faculty of Arts at KU Leuven offers a full-time academic position in the area of Sinology, Senior Academic Staff & Tenure Track
We expect:
Academic research and teaching about contemporary China, preferably about the link between economics, society and culture. Supervision of bachelor’s papers, master’s theses and Ph.D. We expect active collaboration on the interaction between the language courses and content courses. The candidate is expected to actively participate in research and discussions about contemporary China within and beyond the university.
A Ph.D. degree in Sinology or in an equivalent relevant domain with a sinological background. An excellent command of Dutch, Mandarin and English is required. The official language at KU Leuven is Dutch. If you do not speak it (well), we provide language training to enable you to take part in meetings.
The application should include a short research project (maximum 2 pages) and a vision statement about teaching (maximum 2 pages), in Dutch or in English.
