Job Description
The Exoplanet group at University of Southern Queensland is inviting candidates for two fully funded PhD scholarships (3 years). Successful candidate will work with Dr George Zhou and Dr Chelsea Huang on topics including
- Investigate the evolution and mass loss of young planet atmospheres
- Discovering and characterising cool super-Earths around low mass stars
- Understanding how atmospheres of giant planets depend on their formation pathways
- Understand planet demographics with TESS
The PhD candidates will be part of an active group of astronomers, with recent programs on HST, JWST, and VLT to support these investigations.
Responsibilities and qualifications: We are seeking talented and highly motivated students to work at the cutting edge of the rapidly moving research field of exoplanets. Applicants with previous experience in the mentioned areas of research, strong programming skills are strongly encouraged to apply.
