Job Description
Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) is actively seeking qualified candidates to fill multiple faculty positions in the field of exoplanets and related areas, including but not limited to exoplanets, asteroseismology, stellar activities, time domain sciences, the application of artificial intelligence in astronomical data, and astronomical instrumentation. SHAO is leading the development of the Earth 2.0 (ET) space mission, slated for launch in 2028, aimed at significantly expanding the scope of exoplanet demographics. This mission will focus on the discovery of habitable Earth-like planets orbiting solar-type stars, as well as free-floating low-mass planets. It will also contribute to the study of asteroseismology, blackhole science, and transient events. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to lead in specific areas in this top-tier national space project, leveraging their expertise in scientific research, data processing, and the development of astronomical technologies.
