Job Description
The Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics invites applications for a postdoctoral position within the Lise Meitner strong gravitational lensing group led by Dr. Simona Vegetti (https://wwwmpa.mpa-garching.mpg.de/~svegetti/).
We are looking for candidates interested in strong gravitational lensing, either from a data or numerical perspective. The successful candidate will join the vibrant research environment of the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching. The position comes with a generous travel budget and the opportunity to travel to the US, UK and the Netherlands to work with collaborators.
The position is available from October 2025, but the starting date is negotiable.

Compensation Notes
Salaries are paid at German civil service rates (gross annual pre-tax income including a special
annual payment are currently in the range of 63.000 EUR to 72.500 EUR, depending on post-doctoral
experience).
