Job Description
The Paris Observatory-PSL LIRA laboratory (Meudon) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join Dr. Chervin Laporte’s group to work on galactic dynamics, near-field cosmology and the distribution and clustering of dark matter on the scale of the Galaxy using and further developing a novel numerical tool for galaxy formation/dynamics and interpreting observations of Gaia and future spectroscopic/photometric/astrometric missions (SDSS-V, WEAVE, EUCLID, LSST).
Applicants with strong expertise/interests numerical simulations of astrophysical systems, galaxy formation, galactic dynamics, are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with programming (C/C++) and parallel programming will be an advantage as well as prior experience basis function expansions. Our group is part of the WEAVE and SDSS-V surveys.
The term of employment is for 2+1 years (subject to performance and availability of funds). The position is funded by the CNRS and ERC grant and comes with special dedicated access to in-house HPC cluster and generous travel support.

Candidates should have a PhD or be in possession of their PhD degree by the starting date of employment. Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate (36k€-60k€ gross salary). Additionally, medical insurance coverage, paid vacations are also included.
