The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Valparaiso University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2017. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. by the time of appointment. Postdoctoral research experience and prior teaching experience are preferred but not required. The duties of the position include undergraduate teaching of both physics and astronomy courses and maintaining an active research program in astronomy that includes undergraduate students. Candidates who can make use of the on-campus observatory and the telescopes of the SARA Consortium (of which Valparaiso University is a member) are particularly encouraged to apply.
