Job Description

Applications are sought for post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Professor Rita Tojeiro conducting research for a project entitled “The impact of structure formation on the evolution of galaxies using DESI”. 

The main purpose of this role is to conduct an investigation on the impact of the multi-scale cosmic web on the properties of galaxies and dark matter halos, using primarily (but not exclusively) data from the DESI survey.  The post holder will become part of the DESI collaboration and will also have the opportunity to spend a fraction of their time working on the preparation for DESI-II.

The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in astronomy with expertise in the galaxy-halo connection from a theoretical or observational perspectives and will have experience in the analysis and/or planning of large spectroscopic redshift surveys.

The post is available for 36 months starting 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
