This role is your opportunity to work at the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA), which has an outstanding international reputation for exceptional performance and astronomical research. The ATCA is one of the most advanced telescopes of its type and is among the top three telescopes of its kind by both publication numbers and citations.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Work at one of the world’s most scientifically productive telescopes
- Become a leading voice in maximising the scientific productivity of the ATCA Telescope and the Paul Wild Observatory
- Work in a flexible full-time, part-time or job-share arrangement, working from Narrabri, NSW
In this role, you will contribute to the scientific specification and development of new systems, follow projects through to commissioning and scientific use. Your role will help astronomers make the best use of the telescope in innovate ways.
Your role will also contribute to ATCA’s major upgrade project (named BIGCAT - Broadband Integrated-GPU Correlator for the Australia Telescope), which will become one of the fastest GPU-based radio telescope signal processors in the world.
Compensation and Benefits
Superannuation: up to 15.4% in addition to base salary
Flexibility: We work flexibly at CSIRO, offering a range of options for how, when and where you work. This role can be offered on a full-time, part-time or job-share basis.
Leave: Four weeks of annual recreation leave and 15 days sick/carer’s leave apply.
Tenure: Indefinite
Relocation: Relocation and immigration assistance will be provided to the successful candidate where required.
