In the co-operation with Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics (Nordita) and the Faculty of mathematics and natural sciences, University of Turku (UTU), we hereby invite applications for Researcher (Tenure track) or University Research Fellow position in Theoretical High-energy Astrophysics.
The Researcher appointment is initially for a term of five years. If the chosen applicant starts at a level of University research fellow then the position is permanent immediately. The duration of a joint work with the University of Turku and Nordita is five years, independent of the level of the employment contract. The appointee will be employed by UTU. The primary work location will be at Nordita, Stockholm, Sweden for the first 2.5 years and for the next 2.5 years at Tuorla Observatory of UTU, Turku, Finland.
The successful candidate will conduct research in theoretical high-energy astrophysics, and is supposed to interact with faculty, postdocs and graduate students at Nordita and the University of Turku. We seek individuals whose research will complement and expand the current research activities of Tuorla observatory that include black holes of all scales, neutron stars, supernovae and gamma-ray bursts.
