Job Description
The CASSACA is offering 1 to 2 postdoctoral positions to work on extragalactic astronomy using JWST, ALMA and multiwavelength data. The successful candidates will collaborate with Dr. Siwei Zou’s group, focusing on high redshift galaxy evolution and AGN sciences. The role includes data analysis and data mining, particularly with JWST and ALMA, and offers opportunities to lead independent projects within COSMOS 3D (#5893), EREBUS , and related group PI led multiwavelength datasets.
Applicants should hold a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a related field by the start date. Candidates with experience in JWST and ALMA data reduction and analysis, multiwavelength observations, and simulations and modeling are strongly encouraged to apply.
The postdoctoral scholar will have access to 10% of Chilean telescope time at major observatories including ALMA, VLT, Gemini, and Magellan, as well as JWST Cycle 1 to 3 programs and extensive datasets through EREBUS and COSMOS-3D collaborators, with opportunities to collaborate with colleagues at the Universidad de Chile, Universidad Diego Portales, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and other universities in Santiago, the French Chilean Astronomy Laboratory, and the broader international community.
