Job Description

CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (CASS) are seeking a senior research astronomer with experience and strong interests in using large-scale ‘big data’ management systems.

You will be the CASS lead scientist for data storage and access services provided by CSIRO to support radio astronomy. During construction projects you will act as the CASS Project Scientist/Project Leader for data archive projects and will work closely with technical development teams to ensure project deliverables meet requirements.

Up to forty per cent of your time will be available for research activities as a senior research scientist. You are expected to make use of the CASS observing capabilities and to lead and participate in continuing research programs leading to high quality refereed publications.
