2025A Post-doctoral Researcher Position in KASI

The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute(KASI) is a government-funded research institute located in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. We conduct front-line research in various fields of astronomy, astrophysics and space science, develop astronomical instruments and operate facilities in Korea and overseas. We are currently looking for creative and outstanding a postdoctoral researcher.

• The Area of Recruitment

  - Galaxy Evolution Research, Software Development (5 positions)

 

  - Researches on galaxy evolution / Active Galactic Nuclei using spectroscopic data (1 position)

  - K-DRIFT and/or K-SPEC observation and data analysis (1 position)

  - Study of exoplanet atmosphere (1 position)

  - VLBI Data Analysist & KVN/EAVN Support (1 position)

  - Radio Astronomy (2 positions)

  - Evolved stars (1 position)

  - Research on space weather prediction (1 position)

  - Earth's ionosphere/upper atmosphere observations and research (1 position)

  - SPHEREx Science or Instrumentation (1 position)

  - Research and Operational Support with Gemini International Observatory (1 position)

  - Observational Research w/ Rubin/LSST and Gemini Observatory (1 position)

  - Spectrograph development and Scientific research (2 positions)

  - Cosmology and Astrophysics (2 positions)

  - Interstellar Medium & Star/Planet Formation; MHD Simulations; Dust Astrophysics (3 positions)

• Qualifications

 - Those who earned their Ph.D. within the past 5 years(starting date is within 5 years of receiving their Ph.D.) or those who will obtain their Ph.D. before the appointment date. 

 - Those who can start working within 2025. The appointment date is negotiable with an agreement of the PI, but it should be no later than Dec 01, 2025.
