Historic Site Designation Committee

History: The new committee was approved by the Board of Trustees in the first quarter of 2023.

Members: All initial members are members of the Historical Astronomy Division (HAD) who participated in the original Historic Site Designation Program Task Force. All former Task Force members were invited to participate in the new Committee.

Term: Three years, November to November.

Charge: The initial duties of the Committee include fleshing out the administrative details that were not addressed in the Task Force report. In particular, they will identify the ideal committee composition for assessing nominations. Then, they will recruit a fuller slate of members. When they are ready, they will present that slate to the Board for consideration.
