Chambliss Student Poster Awards for AAS 224

The latest Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Awards competition, which occurred last week during the 224th AAS meeting in Boston, MA, was exhilarating. Nearly 70 student poster authors entered the competition, of which about 15% were undergraduates, and there were approximately 100 volunteer judges!
Student posters were evaluated during the morning coffee breaks and afternoon poster sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the meeting. Judges used a new scoring rubric and a new online score-submission process for the first time — both of which worked well.
The many students I spoke with during the meeting expressed excitement about being in the Chambliss competition, and the judges I spoke with were eager to meet our Chambliss students and learn about their work.
