A Survey on Careers in Astronomy

Richard Fienberg, AAS Press Officer

Delaney Guy, a student at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, Illinois, is doing a research project on careers in astronomy. He wants to survey high-school students who are considering their career options as well as astronomers who, obviously, have already made their career choice. By comparing their survey responses, he hopes to identify some of the factors that lead people toward, or away from, careers in the astronomical sciences.

The survey, which is completely anonymous, consists of a few demographic questions and a few questions pertaining to astronomy and astronomical careers. It should take only 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Please help Delaney, who has offered to share any interesting results with the AAS, by taking the survey by Friday, 2 March 2018. Thanks!
