DC Elementary School Science Fair Judges Needed
By Richard Fienberg
Attention DC-area AAS members! Francis Scott Key Elementary School (5001 Dana Place NW, Washington, DC 20016) seeks judges for its annual science fair to be held on Friday, 15 March, from 8:30 am to approximately 12:30 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all judges.
This year the school hopes to recruit 20 judges with experience in any field of science. No experience in judging is necessary, as scoring forms are used to evaluate the students’ projects and there will be a brief introductory training session the morning of the event.
If you are able to serve as a judge or would like more information before making the commitment, please contact Sarah Babcock by email or phone (989-493-1150). Judges often recruit one or more colleagues to attend with them and serve as additional judges, which makes for a fun day while serving our community.
"Your participation would be a valuable contribution to a DC public school," says Ms. Babcock, "and the event is sure to be a fulfilling experience for judges and students."
