Registration Types

Student
Registrant must be under 28 years of age and interested in the advancement of astronomy or related science. Full-time students age 28 or older who are pursuing a degree in astronomy or physics are eligible to register as a student upon furnishing proof of their full-time student status.

Local Educator
Local educators are middle- and high-school teachers and community college instructors who operate within 50 miles of the meeting venue.

Amateur Astronomer
An amateur astronomer is one who does not depend on the field of astronomy as a primary source of income or support, and does not have a professional degree or advanced academic training in the subject.

Guest
A guest must be a spouse, domestic partner, or significant other. Guest registration fee covers access to the exhibit/poster hall, opening and closing receptions, and daily morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Guests cannot attend scientific sessions.

Guest Registration for Children
Children 14 years old and above must pay the required guest registration fee of $50.00.

Credit Cards: We accept Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

Wire Transfers: Contact reg-help@aas.org or fax 202-234-7850 for detailed wire transfer information. All wire transfers must be received by 26 August 2016 and will be assessed a $50 processing fee.

Confirmation and Receipts: Confirmation and receipts for online registration appear on your browser screen immediately upon submission.

Please note: Full Registrations may not be changed to One Day Registrations; however, One Day Registrations may be upgraded to Full Registrations at anytime.

Cancellations

Requests for cancellations must be received in writing to reg-help@aas.org or fax at 202-234-7850. Please allow 4-6 weeks for all refunds to be processed. No refunds will be given after 16 September 2016.

Registration Refunds

  • Through 12 August 2016: Registration refund less a $25.00 processing fee
  • 13 August–16 September 2016: Registration refund less a $50.00 processing fee
  • After 16 September 2016: No refunds will be given after this date.
