Registration Fees

Note: All workshop organizers, moderators, and attendees must be registered to attend the AAS meeting at which the workshop is occurring. Those attending a workshop only and not the rest of the AAS meeting will be charged a one-day registration fee in addition to the individual workshop fee.

Please note: The workshops and events listed on this page are only those that require or allow registration through the meeting registration form. There may be other workshops and events during the meeting that are not listed here. See the online program for information on all events.

Registration Types

Local Educator
Local educators are middle- and high-school teachers and community college instructors who operate within 50 miles of the meeting venue.

Amateur Astronomer
An amateur astronomer is one who does not depend on the field of astronomy as a primary source of income or support, and does not have a professional degree or advanced academic training in the subject.

Guest
A guest must be a spouse, domestic partner, or significant other. Guest registration fee covers access to the exhibit/poster hall, opening and closing receptions, and daily morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Guests cannot attend workshops or scientific sessions.

Guest Registration for Children
Children 14 years old and above must pay the required guest registration fee of $60.00.

Check/Money Order: Make payable to "233rd AAS Meeting."

Credit Cards: We accept Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

Confirmation and Receipts: Confirmation and receipts for online registration appear on your browser screen immediately upon submission.

Need a receipt before the meeting? Visit members.aas.org, select meeting history, then select the corresponding order number.

Corrections/Additions

Contact reg-help@aas.org to make any changes to your registration.

Please note: Full Registrations may not be changed to One Day Registrations; however, One Day Registrations may be upgraded to Full Registrations at anytime.

Cancellations

Requests for cancellations must be received in writing to reg-help@aas.org or by fax to 202-234-7850. Please allow 4-6 weeks for all refunds to be processed.

Registration Refunds

  • Through 27 September 2018: Registration refund less the $25.00 processing fee
  • 28 September–10 December 2018: Registration refund less the $50.00 processing fee
  • After 11 December 2018: No refunds will be given after this date.
