Job Description

We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position funded by the ERC Consolidator Grant DEMOBLACK led by Michela Mapelli. The DEMOBLACK team investigates the formation channels of binary black holes.

Successful candidates will join an active research team, working in the vibrant environment of the University of Padova. Enquiries about the scientific project and the position can be addressed to Michela Mapelli: [email protected]
More details about the research group can be found at

The starting date is flexible. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (in physics, astronomy, astrophysics, or equivalent degree), or are expected to obtain their Ph.D. by the time of the appointment. The appointment is for 2 years, with a possible 1-year extension. Gross salaries range approximately from 28000 to 45000 EUR/year (depending on experience), more than adequate for local costs of living. Generous travel funds are available.
