Job Description
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Tufts University is seeking a full-time lecturer starting Fall 2025. The principal responsibilities are teaching (1) 100-150 student sections of Introductory Physics, both calculus- and non-calculus-based, which includes mentoring and supervising graduate and undergraduate teaching and learning assistants, and (2) graduate and undergraduate courses on pedagogy. Additional responsibilities include advising and service. There may be opportunities to teach higher-level physics courses.
The lecturer will have opportunities to collaborate in physics education research, to strengthen their teaching expertise through interactions with our faculty, and to benefit from our strong tradition of excellence, innovation and equity in physics education.
Candidates for this position should hold a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Physics Education, or a closely related field, and have familiarity and experience with the principles and practices of teaching and learning based on active student engagement and educational equity.
