Job Summary
Job Description
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in observational galaxy evolution at UMass Amherst. The successful applicant will work with Prof. Alexandra Pope on a James Webb Space Telescope Cycle 1 GO program to analyze mid-infrared spectroscopic data to map coeval star formation and supermassive black hole growth in distant galaxies. Previous experience with infrared spectroscopic and/or IFU data is desirable, but not necessary. The successful candidate will be able to spend a fraction of their time on independent research and will have the benefit of institutional access to the Large Millimeter Telescope (LMT) in Mexico. The appointment is expected to start in Fall 2022, and requires the completion of a PhD in Astronomy, Physics, or related field.
Applications should include a single PDF file containing curriculum vitae (including publication list), a summary of past research accomplishments (3 page limit), and current research interests (1-3 pages).
