Four Positions in Radio Astronomy at the Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre
The Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre (HAA), part of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), invites applications for four continuing appointments in radio astronomy. These positions offer a rare opportunity to conduct leading-edge research while shaping Canada’s leadership in science with the SKA and its global data infrastructure.
As a full member of the SKA Observatory, Canada is preparing for the transformative science the SKA will deliver. Successful candidates will help define this future, both through their own research and by supporting national and international community engagement with the SKA and its precursors, including CHIME and CHORD.

Compensation
The intent of this hiring action is to staff this position at the AsRO or AcRO level with a salary range of $83,985CAD to $139,608CAD.
NOTE: Please note that the full RO salary scale has five levels. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate’s expertise, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As such, the initial salary could be within another level of the RO salary scale (i.e. above or below the intended level for this position).
In addition, the incumbent who qualifies for the bilingual position will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800CAD per year.
