The primary focus of this position will be the use of observations and simulations of large-scale structure to test for departures from LambdaCDM. The successful candidate will join the research team of Prof. Tessa Baker, and contribute to the ERC-funded SHADE project, as well as the Royal Society-funded grant “Probing the Nature of Gravity on Cosmological and Nonlinear Scales”.

Candidates with pre-existing skills in numerical simulations, theories of gravity beyond GR and their connection to galaxy surveys are desirable, but candidates bringing complementary skills are also welcome.

This is a fixed-term contract for two years; an extension to a third year is available subject to performance and funding. It is expected this extension will be offered in the large majority of cases.

Interviews expected week commencing January 29 2024. The preferred start date is July 2024, though there is flexibility; the latest possible start date is September 2024.
