Job Description
General Description/Primary Purpose:
The Department of Physics is seeking a 12-month, non-tenure earning, Instructor of Physics. Position responsibilities include a teaching load of 4-4-1 sections in Fall-Spring-Summer. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching lectures and labs in undergraduate introductory Physics, Astrophysics/Astronomy, and Earth Science, as well as contribute to the continuing development and implementation of curricular content. UNF’s Department of Physics is committed to increasing student participation and persistence in STEM fields, and the ideal candidate would contribute to this aim. The Department has a strong history of community outreach, and the ideal candidate would contribute to the continuation of those programs, with service to both the university and profession.
Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, Earth Sciences, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

Previous, documented experience in teaching undergraduate Introductory Physics, Astrophysics/Astronomy, and/or Earth Science

Demonstrates the commitment and capability to provide an excellent learning environment to students, work with student-centered methods of instruction, and contribute to the continuing development and implementation of curricular content.
