Job Description
The University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. This is an open search; all areas of astronomy will be considered. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in physics, astronomy, or a related field. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate the potential to develop a world-class research program, achieve excellence in teaching at all levels, and show a strong commitment to providing service to the department, the university, and the professional community.
The University of Ljubljana hosts a vibrant department with a strong astronomy group. Our research interests include the discovery and characterization of the first stars and galaxies in the universe, the physics and evolution of stars, and the physics of the interstellar and intergalactic medium. We also study eruptive phenomena on the Sun and the physical characterization of galaxy clusters. The department hosts several ERC grants.
