Description

The Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago invites applications for a part-time, renewable Lecturer 1B position in support of the MS program in Environmental Science. The position would start as early as Fall 2025. Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate will teach between one and three courses per academic year. A background in data science applications to environmental science is preferred. Additional duties include holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparation and grading of assignments and testing materials.

The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the University. This position is not benefits-eligible.

Qualifications

Completion of a Ph.D. degree in Earth or Environmental Sciences or a closely related field is required prior to the start of appointment.

Salary Range

$8,883 - $12,500 (per course)
