Job Description

The University of Hawai'i at Mānoa (UHM) seeks 2 tenure-track assistant professors for the Space Science and Engineering Initiative (SSEI). The SSEI is a joint effort of the UHM College of Engineering (CoE) and the Institute for Astronomy (IfA) dedicated to the creation of an inter-island engineering research center for the development of technologies, telescopes, and missions that support astronomy within the state of Hawai'i.

SSEI faculty members are expected to collaboratively build research programs that contribute to the core mission of the SSEI.  Applicants are broadly sought with a background relevant to astronomical instrumentation design, development, construction, and testing. These positions are ideal for engineers and scientists with experience and expertise in the conceptualization, design, and commissioning of ground and spaceflight instrumentation.

To apply please see the links below and note that while a single candidate may apply to both positions, the applications must be submitted separately.
