Postdoctoral in Observational Cosmology & Rubin Observatory

We are seeking postdoctoral scholars to join our observational cosmology group. Our current emphasis is on ensuring that the Rubin Observatory/LSST will meet or exceed expectations, and on developing data analysis methods to fully exploit the next generation of observational data. In particular, our group is deeply engaged in identifying and addressing the various sources of systematic error that afflict contemporary observational cosmology. We are seeking individuals with an interest in precision calibration, in digging into the nuances of point spread functions, and on developing innovative advanced analysis methodologies for supernova cosmology and lensing phenomenology. Experience in some combination of astronomical instrumentation, experimental physics, or astronomical data processing (imaging and/or spectroscopy) is desirable. A PhD in physics, astronomy, or a related field required by the time of appointment. This is a two-year position with potential renewal for a third year.
