Job Description

Illinois Tech is accepting applications for an assistant teaching professor position specializing in astronomy and astrophysics. The academic appointment will be in the Illinois Tech Department of Physics, and the expected start date is August 15, 2024.

We seek candidates with a strong Astronomy/Astrophysics background to co-direct our growing astrophysics program and teach undergraduate courses in physics and astrophysics. We seek a dynamic and engaging instructor with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, dedication and commitment to student success and educational innovation. A Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or a related field is required; prior astronomy or astrophysics teaching experience is desirable, but not required.
