Session 44 - Stellar X-Ray Sources.
Display session, Tuesday, January 14
The high mass X-ray binary pulsar Centaurus X-3 was observed outside of eclipse by ASCA in February 1995. We find a 2 - 10 keV luminosity of 5\times10^36\rm\ erg\ s^-1 and observe a double peaked pulse profile. We use pulse-phase resolved spectroscopy of the individual components of the 6 - 7 keV iron emission feature to probe the geometry of the X-ray emission region. There is possible evidence of Comptonization of the 6.4 keV iron fluorescence line which may be due to reflection from the accretion disk.
