During its first two years of operation, the Burst and Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) on board the orbiting Compton Gamma Ray Observatory detected over 585 gamma ray bursts. An appropriate subset of the BATSE (2B) data is selected and binned. Corrections are made for uncertainties in burst brightness and BATSE'strigger efficiency. This data is modeled by a power-law spatial distribution with limiting redshift, under the cosmological assumption of isotropy, and both standard candle and power-law luminosity distributions. A flat cosmology is also assumed. These models are fit to the data, yielding probable spatial and luminosity distributions for the bursts. The "visibility" of the limiting redshift and the validity of the standard candle approximation are discussed.
