Astronomy-related press releases from authorized representatives of universities, observatories, government agencies, scientific societies, and other organizations are forwarded by e-mail to the AAS press list of more than 2,000 reporters, editors, broadcasters, and institutional press officers who regularly cover astronomy and space science.

Only accredited journalists (who must agree to respect publication embargoes) and institutional public information officers are eligible to receive press releases forwarded by the AAS.
