Summary
Two important FY 2012 appropriations bills for astronomy and astrophysics have been working their way through the House of Representatives on Capitol Hill:
House Approved Energy and Water Funding Bill for Fiscal Year 2012 (H.R. 2354) on July 15, 2011, which provides annual funding for Dept. of Energy Office of Science and Nuclear Energy.
The AAS is happy to announce its second annual report in a new format, published electronically apart from the BAAS. The 2010 Annual Report is available at http://aas.org/publications/annual_report.
For future years, the report will be available in July each year for the year prior. This is due to needing Council approval of the audit report for the prior year before we include the financial results in the annual report. Comments or questions about the annual report are welcome publications@aas.org.
