The Boston Meeting-in-a-Meeting form is CLOSED.

Please use this form to submit a Meeting-in-a-Meeting proposal for the 224th AAS Meeting in Boston, MA in June 2014.

If you have already submitted a proposal, you will be notified by the third week of November of the status of your proposal.

Meetings-in-a-Meeting are a series of related sessions that are held concurrently with AAS sessions. Replacing Topical Sessions, they can be considered as special symposia held in parallel with other AAS Meeting sessions.
Meetings-in-a-Meeting may have associated poster sessions and may be in any format (workshop, arranged speakers, contributed speakers, etc.) that can be accommodated at the meeting location.

Organizers may request 2-7 sessions. These sessions will be scheduled as following:

  • Monday - Wednesday: 10am-11:30am and/or 2pm-3:30pm, for a total of 3 available hours each day.
  • Thursday: 10am-11:30am, for a total of 1.5 hours.

If you are unsure of the final titles, you can number them with roman numerals. Example: "Proposed Title I," "Proposed Title II," etc.
Maximum 2000 characters. This session description will be posted online, as well as printed in the final Meeting Program--please submit a description in the format that you would like the meeting attendees to read. See Meeting-in-a-Meeting Deadlines for the final description deadline.
Please list the names of confirmed speakers, and their affiliations. Potential topics are optional. Please note: The VP Planning Committee will only accept those proposals that include a strong confirmed speaker list. Also, the Committee looks for the session to be representative of the diversity of those working in astronomy. See Meeting-in-a-Meeting Deadlines for the final speaker list deadline.

All Meetings-in-a-Meeting will be provided with the following standard equipment and services: LCD Projector, Screen, Laptop, Podium, Podium Microphone, and Internet Connection. There may be costs for additional equipment.
