Local Student Education and Public Outreach
Participating in the Indianapolis Education and Public Outreach Program is a great way for your institution to interact with students from the local student community. There is no fee to participate, but we need each group to make a reservation. As a participant, you have the unique opportunity to highlight your programs, facility and perform hands-on science with the students. The event is geared towards 5th - 8th grade students.
We are encouraging participating exhibitors to work with their Education and Public Outreach Departments to create a 12 minute HANDS-ON activity that will engage and excite the students. You will be visited by up to 8 different groups of students over a two hour period.
Your organization will be acknowledged at the event, on the meeting website and in the meeting program.
We are asking all participants to provide up to 250 handouts for the students. The AAS volunteers will put together a 'goodie bag' with all the handouts from the various participants and distribute them to the students as they leave the center. Handouts can be delivered to AAS Exhibitor Registration by Sunday, 2 June 2013.
