The Radial Velocity Experiment (RAVE) is an ambitious all-sky spectroscopic survey to measure radial velocities and stellar atmosphere parameters (temperature, metallicity, surface gravity) of up to one million stars using the 6dF multi-object spectrograph on the 1.2-m UK Schmidt Telescope of the Anglo-Australian Observatory (AAO). RAVE spectra are well suited for studying kinematic substructure in the disk and halo of the Galaxy. We use spectra from the RAVE and Geneva/Copenhagen surveys to identify new members of the Arcturus group, which is a stellar moving group in the thick disk. We are using high dispersion spectra from the AAT to study the chemical properties of the Arcturus stars in detail. The goal is to determine whether the Arcturus group is a dissolved star formation site or the debris of an accreted satellite.
