[101.07] The Physical Structure and Conditions of Two Newly Confirmed SNRs in the LMC

The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), with its low foreground absorption and proximity, offers the ideal site to study a large sample of supernova remnants (SNRs) in detail, both spatially and energetically. It is possible to obtain a relatively complete sample of SNRs in the LMC to examine both global properties and the subclasses of SNRs. Toward this goal, we have identified several new SNRs and SNR candidates using data from the Magellanic Cloud Emission Line Survey (MCELS, see posters Smith et al., Leiton et al.) and confirmed their nature with multi-wavelength spectroscopic and imaging data. These newly confirmed SNRs are generally fainter than the known sample in the LMC, and may represent a previously missed population. We present the results of our multi-wavelength analysis, including optical imaging, optical low resolution spectroscopy, optical echelle spectroscopy, and XMM observations of two of these objects. We use these complementary views of the two objects to study their physical structures and conditions, to study their evolutionary stage, and to investigate the types of their supernova progenitors.
