[27.07] Oxygen Abundances of Solar-Type Dwarfs in Open Clusters: M34 and the Pleiades

S.C. Schuler, J.R. King (Clemson U.), L.M. Hobbs (U. Chicago)

We present 7774 \; \mathrm{Å} \ion{O}{1} triplet oxygen abundances derived from Keck/HIRES and HET/HRS spectra of numerous solar-type dwarfs in open clusters M34 and the Pleiades. This represents the first analysis of O in a significant number of cool open cluster dwarfs. We discuss the results and any correlations of the O abundances, as well as implications for chromospherically induced NLTE effects. This work has been generously supported by NSF grant AST00-86576 to JRK.
