Kevin B. Marvel, Executive Officer
Dear Fellow AAS Members,
I am writing on behalf of a young female AAS member who has received a prestigious National Academy of Sciences fellowship, the Christine Mirzayan Fellowship. Participants learn about the public policy process and have an extensive period of training, including seminars with key policymakers and visits to the Hill and other agencies. Astronomers rarely have secured places in this program.
However, this fellowship is peculiar in that it is only six weeks long. This places some difficulties on the participants as finding affordable short-term housing can be difficult in Washington.
The member in question is looking for a room or apartment for rent at a reasonable rate, preferably near the metro from 15 Sep to ~23 Nov. If you are willing to host this person or can suggest a solution for her, please email me directly at Kevin.Marvel at aas.org.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
Mailed to AAS members from aas.org 30 July 2007.
