1. PROPOSAL DEADLINE EXTENSION FOR THE NASA LONG-TERM SPACE ASTROPHYSICS PROGRAM
By Guenter Riegler
The NASA Research Announcement (NRA) for the Long-Term Space Astrophysics Program (NRA 95-OSS-16), released October 11, 1995, specified proposal submission at any time during the period ending January 11, 1996. Since some proposers may have been affected by the recent partial government shutdown and weather-related shutdowns, the deadline for receipt of proposals is extended until February 1, 1996. Any proposals received after February 1 will be held until the subsequent review cycle, which will commence roughly one year after the present cycle.
The NRA appendices are available through anonymous file-transfer-protocol (ftp) from Internet host ftp.hq.nasa.gov. ASCII and Postscript files for the NRA, all Appendices and required forms are located in the directory
"/pub/astrophysics/NRAs/LTSA/95-OSS-16" or use the Web tool at URL http://nasa-review.ipac.caltech.edu/ltsa-96/. For further information, please contact Dr. James Schombert, Astrophysics Division, Code SZ, National
Aeronautics and Space Administration, Washington DC 20546, telephone (202) 358-0355, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR THE AIRBORNE ASTRONOMY NRA
By Ted Dunham, email@example.com
The deadline for responses to the Airborne Astronomy NRA, NRA2-36449(BXM), has been extended due to the recent Government furlough. The new due date is February 29, 1996. We will make every effort to insure
that an additional extension will not be needed in case of another furlough at the end of January.
