1. ROCHESTER ANTICIPATED PRESS COVERAGE

We are aware that astronomers who miss the meeting are often questioned by students and friends concerning the findings reported in the media. However, we do not post the press releases from the meeting on the Web because we supply information to the media, we don't compete with them in getting the information out. Press releases on individual papers and findings are prepared by the author institutions and not by the AAS.

Shortly before each meeting, the list of press conferences is posted on the AAS web site, with references to the corresponding meeting papers.

2. FUSE GUEST INVESTIGATOR PROGRAM: Call for Proposals

Proposals Due: 14 July 2000.

The NASA Research Announcement for Cycle 2 of the Guest Investigator (GI) program of the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) mission was issued on 10 May 2000. This research announcement, and the accompanying FUSE Observers Guide, are available online. The NRA and other GI program information is available at http://fusewww.gsfc.nasa.gov/fuse. The FOG and other documents, including FUSE first results papers, can be obtained from the FUSE web site (http://fuse.pha.jhu.edu).
