Meetings Tag Definition: Relates to the overall Meetings program and everything produced by the Meetings Department. Additional meeting specific tags (e.g. aas222) are used to categorize items for individual meetings.
- Items produced by other departments for a specific meeting do not contain the general Meetings tag. They are categoriezed within their subject area (e.g. Press, Policy, Public Outreach) plus they contain the specific meeting tag (e.g. aas222).
- Members may subscribe to the main Meetings category to receive notifications for ALL meetings OR they may subscribe to individual meetings using the specific meeting number tags.

New discoveries about celestial objects ranging from nearby stars to distant galaxies will be featured in five press conferences at the 222nd meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS), 2-6 June 2013, at the Indiana Convention Center, 100 S. Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46225. More than 500 astronomers, educators, journalists, and guests are expected.
The American Astronomical Society and DPS is looking for volunteers to help out at the 45th Meeting of DPS in Denver, CO. We love getting help from undergrads, grads, postdocs, and local amateur astronomers at our meetings: to supervise sessions, help at registration, usher at events, and various other odd (but greatly appreciated) jobs. This is a great chance to meet and mingle with your peers, get up to date on the newest science, and pick up some cool freebies in the Exhibit Hall.
We're inviting amateur astronomers and other interested members of the public to drop in to our 222nd meeting in Indianapolis. Weather permitting, we'll also hold a public star party with the Indiana Astronomical Society.
You may think you belong to the AAS, but it's really the other way around: the Society belongs to you. That's why you should come to the Annual Members Meeting in Indianapolis, on Wednesday afternoon, 5 June, to hear reports from our leaders and to raise and comment on issues of concern to you. Or you can just come for the free drinks and snacks!
The AAS and DPS assists with dependent care grants to cover some of the costs and offer a forum for sharing child care or organizing family activities.
Due to popular demand, the "Probes of Dark Matter on Galaxy Scales" and "Exascale Radio Astronomy" conferences in Monterey, California, have extended their abstract-submission deadlines to 15 May!
